Club Projects

Our club is participates in many projects such as our Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser, our Sports Challenge Unlimited, and our Four-Way Speech Content.

Annual Pancake Breakfast
Our Annual Pancake Breakfast is our club’s big fundraiser generating a significant amount of money for club projects and club donations throughout the year.  Each year the members of the Chagrin Highland Rotary Club roll up their sleeves and flip pancakes.  We all have a lot of fun.

Sports Challenge Unlimited
Twice a year, the Chagrin Highlands Rotary Club holds the Sports Challenge Unlimited, a day of fun and games for the mentally handicapped.  From the Ring Toss to the Watermelon Walk, all the participants have a great time. Following the sports challenge we serve lunch and award prizes to everyone.  The smiles and laughter from the participants make this a very worthwhile project.

Four-Way Speech Contest
The Four Way Test Speech Contest is an ethics based speech contest where students in grades 9 through 12 can participate by writing a 4 to 7 minute speech.  The purpose of the speech is to foster the idea that ethics in your personal life, and in business, are important.  Students deliver a speech that solves an ethical problem, from their own experiences using the Rotary Four Way Test:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build good will and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Chagrin Highlands Rotary engages students from Beachwood, Orange, and Solon High Schools.  Prize money is awarded for winning speeches.  Top speakers are then eligible to compete at the District Level Competition.

Chagrin Highlands Rotary has been participating in the Speech Contest since 1984.
